Training 3

Solving Daily Conflicts Democratically - Betzavta

You acquire multi-faceted suggestions  for the democratic conflict solutions in daily situations. The basis consists of a concept of democracy which goes well beyond simple majority rule.

It is the growth of political and cultural diversity which  requires democratic concepts to secure a peaceful co-existence. In daily and work life we are confronted with different interest groups and, in part, with racially prejudiced and rightwing extremist mentalities. We are challenged to solve these conflicts constructively and democratically.

During this training you have the possibility to examine your own conflict behaviour more closely, and to learn ways of democratic decision making and apply them practically. In this way you will experience democratic processes as a new way of life and be challenged to carry what you have learned into your daily life.

The practical exercises are based on the "Betzavta" programme which was developed in Israel, and which has been adapted from the Centre for Applied Policy Research and the Bertelsmann Foundation.
